One of the challenges with green-screen (a.k.a. Chromakey) is to make your composition believable and realistic. This involves planning the lighting, sound etc.
In this example, I set up my portable green-screen in my living room at home, complete with teleprompter and slaved screens either side so that Pieter could continue reading the prompt text – yet look as if he was speaking to an audience. Since Pieter is such a great presenter, he didn’t need much coaching to get a fairly natural delivery from this setup.
I then constructed the background from a photo downloaded from clipart.com using Photoshop and setup an Alpha channel (for the simulated projection screen). The content inserted in the screen area came from footage that Pieter supplied, plus additional videos and photos from videoblocks.com and clipart.com.
